If you’re a newcomer to the lyrical stylings of one Olubowale Victor Akintimehin (you can simply call him “Wale”) it can take a while to get used to his continuous, free-flowing style – even for experienced heads. Laced with Wale’s trademark flow and littered with famous guest appearances, his latest mixtape – Back 2 The Feature – is not the lyrical exercise of past effort 100 Miles & Running or the end-to-end quality of last year’s Mixtape About Nothing, but is a measure of how far his skills and legend have progressed in the past few years and a suitable intro for his upcoming major label debut, Attention: Deficit. 

Wale’s tapes rarely feature big-name guest appearances, but B2TF spouts them off one after another. Just a short list: Curren$y, Young Chris, Freeway, Beanie Siegel, Lady Gaga, Joe Budden, Peedi Peedi, Black Thought, Torae, Bun-B, Jean Grae, Memphis Bleek, Talib Kweli and Royce Da 5’9 with production mainly by 9th Wonder but also featuring tracks from Mark Ronson, BKS, Cool & Dre.
